Jeremy Westgarth-Taylor started Water Rhapsody in 1994 and still owns and runs the firm. Our customers provide us with wonderful word of mouth marketing which makes this aspect by far our most valuable tool for our services and avenues for our inventions.

All of the work carried out by Water Rhapsody is an attempt to reduce demand for and reliance on municipal water, which almost ran completely dry in 2018. Such work means that riverine environments around the world will regain their biospheres (the maximum number of eco-systems) leading to healthy sea life, estuarine life and riverine ecology.

In 1994 Jeremy won the first of awards at the Goodwood Show of the “Most Innovative Product”. In 1998, a second award was made to Water Rhapsody, this time from the WWF (World Wide Fund) which features the famous Panda. The WWF awarded Water Rhapsody the “Water Conservation Award” despite competition for the award from the multi million rand a day Rand Water and Umgeni Water that supply water to the whole of Johannesburg and Durban respectively. More recently in 2018 Water Rhapsody was the winner of an ECO-LOGIC award for “Efforts and contributions towards creating and ECO-LOGICAL world”.

All of the ideas and developments over the past years since inception of Water Rhapsody have turned into products which have provided the means for the thousands of clients that have entrusted us with the means to use less water as well as to become the prime supplier of water for domestic, commercial and industrial use. Water Demand is very different from Water Supply.

Water Demand management is achieved by using less of the precious stuff. This involves the re-use of grey water for irrigation purposes or for toilet flushing. Also by getting the toilet flushes to stop as soon as the toilet bowl is clear. The re-use of swimming pool filter backwash water for re-introduction to the pool.
